The Role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our Group Finance team at our head office in Stockholm. As a Tax Manager, you will play a central role in developing and maintaining effective processes for tax compliance, accounting, and reporting on a global level. You will collaborate with colleagues from Group Control, Group Accounting, and finance teams across our business groups and subsidiaries, as well as external advisors. In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for the global tax oversight of Axel Johnson International and provide strategic global tax guidance for the parent company, Axel Johnson.

You will act as the internal tax advisor during acquisition processes, particularly in Europe and Oceania, and will work closely with senior leadership to ensure that our tax strategy supports the Group’s growth objectives. The role offers an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the Group’s global tax strategy while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations across multiple jurisdictions. The position is based at our headquarters in Stockholm, reporting directly to the Head of Group Control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance & Reporting: Oversee and ensure general tax compliance for Axel Johnson International AB. Responsible for global tax questions for Axel Johnson AB and Axel Johnson International AB. Review of year-end tax reporting for Swedish subsidiaries within the Axel Johnson International AB group.
  • Advisory & Strategy: Serve as the internal tax advisor for subsidiaries on tax matters, keeping abreast of relevant changes in tax legislation.
  • Acquisition Support: Provide expert tax advice and strategic guidance during the acquisition process, ensuring tax-efficient structures are in place.
  • Coordination with External Advisors: Work closely with external tax advisors and auditors to ensure the Group’s tax position is optimized and compliant with local and international regulations.
  • Transfer Pricing & Pillar 2: Manage transfer pricing issues and lead the implementation of Pillar 2 measures as part of the Group’s global tax strategy.
  • Tax Planning & Strategy: Identify strategic tax planning opportunities to enhance the Group’s global tax position and financial performance.

Your Profile:

  • Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in tax, either from a consultancy or audit firm with a tax specialization, or from working in a multinational corporation dealing with both Swedish and global tax matters.
  • Academic Background: A relevant academic degree in business, law, or a related field, with a strong specialization in tax.
  • M&A Expertise: Proven experience in mergers and acquisitions, with the ability to advise on tax implications and structuring.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, in Swedish and English, with the ability to interact with senior stakeholders and external partners.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset, solution-oriented with a focus on problem-solving.
  • Personal Qualities: Flexible, adaptable to changing circumstances, and proactive in pursuing continuous learning and professional development. Highly structured, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
