Role Overview
As Senior Legal Counsel – Compliance Responsible, the role is two-fold. In addition to providing legal services and advice to ensure maximum protection of Permobil’s legal rights and maintenance of its operations, you will also be responsible for driving and managing the legal compliance agenda at Permobil. The compliance areas include global trade compliance, anti-bribery and anti-corruption compliance, international trade, antitrust compliance and human rights.
Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President Group Legal, Risk & Sustainability (Group General Counsel) you will be an integral part of the Group Legal, Risk & Sustainability team. The role is based in Stockholm.
Key responsibilities include:
- Anticipate and identify legal issues and provide advice to all levels of the organization on risk/reward to develop the best possible legal strategies and internal policies.
- Responsible for providing legal analysis and support for business objectives worldwide.
- Review business contracts, leases, and other legal documents; researches legal concerns and recommends revisions as necessary.
- Conduct internal investigations regarding a variety of issues, including whistleblower complaints.
- Maintain understanding of and monitor of latest developments of domestic and international laws affecting Permobil.
- Support the implementation of Permobil’s annual risk management program (ERM process)
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify areas of potential vulnerability and implement corrective actions.
- Provide advice to all levels of the organization on legal issues to develop the best possible legal strategies on pending and threatened litigations or other legal risks.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Permobil’s legal comprehensive compliance programs to ensure adherence to anti-bribery, trade sanctions and anti-trust laws across all regions we operate.
- Stay abreast of global legislative changes and update company policies and procedures accordingly.
- Collaborate with international teams to ensure local compliance practices align with global standards.
- Design and deliver training programs for employees to enhance awareness and understanding of compliance issues.

Skills required:
- Proven track record of addressing complex legal and compliance matters with significant financial and business impact and managing them to a successful resolution.
- Ability to develop and implement legal strategies and solutions in a growing, face-paced environment.
- Ability to analyze and interpret issues and prepare legal opinions on issues arising in a multi-state and international basis.
- Ability to effectively work with members of the legal team.
- Ability to work independently and in local or virtual environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels within a geographically diverse organization.
Your qualifications
- Swedish Master’s degree in Law (LL.M) or similar.
- Minimum 7 years of legal experience from a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Broad base of legal knowledge in multiple practice areas including compliance, litigation, corporate governance, contract law, IP law, marketing, commercial transactions and regulatory matters.
- Experience in procuring, managing and/or coordinating compliance resources within a multinational organization.
- Experience in at least one of the following areas: international trade, anti-bribery and corruption or competition law.
- Full professional proficiency in spoken and written English and Swedish.
It is a merit if you also have:
- Knowledge of U.S. compliance regulations such as HIPAA, FCA and AKS statutes.
- Experience from working in a global role, such as for a U.S. company, but also experience in EMEA and APAC regions.
- Prior experience in the medical, pharmaceutical, or DME field.
